Privacy

Last updated 11 October 2026

A jewellery box is a private place. Alankara treats it that way. Everything you photograph belongs to you, stays tied to your account, and is never shown to anyone else unless you ask for it.

What we hold

Your name and email address, the photographs you take of your pieces and of the outfits you plan to wear, the details read from those photographs, the stories you choose to write, a record of what you have worn, the date you agreed to this notice, and a short private record of key actions on your account.

No photographs of people

Alankara does not collect photographs of people in any form. Pieces are photographed on their own, and outfits laid flat or on a hanger. If a photograph shows a face, a body, a hand or a selfie, Ala sets it aside and it is never stored.

Who can see it

Only you. Your catalogue can be opened only from your signed-in account. Photographs are kept in private storage and served through links that expire; there is no public page, no shared family box, and no feed. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or jewellers.

How the reading works

To read a photograph and suggest a look, the image is sent to our AI service for that one request and the answer comes straight back to you. We send it with an instruction not to keep or learn from it, and your photographs, your catalogue and your stories are never used to train AI models.

What we keep, and for how long

Your photographs and catalogue stay as long as your account stays, and are deleted when you close it. Separately, a copy of each reading request — which includes the photograph you sent — is held for up to ninety days so that failures can be diagnosed. Only we can see those records; they are never used to train models and never passed to advertisers or jewellers. Ask, and we will delete them sooner.

Consent

If we ever want to use one of your photographs elsewhere — a case study, an advertisement, anything at all — we will ask you first and you may say no. Silence is not consent.

Your choices

You can edit or remove any piece at any time from its page in your box. From the Me page you can delete your whole collection, or delete your account entirely — your catalogue, photographs, looks and wear history are removed straight away. See how to delete your account.
